Ideas Justified 

My first idea is a preview of the ashes 2025-26 which will be a magazine that I will preview the team and who will win and the history of the ashes. I will be having a player profile of both teams and who people think we win. Hopefully I will get a lot of written interviews from people who love cricket. I am doing this project as I love cricket and the ashes is the biggest trophy in the history of cricket and one of the best trophies of all sport. From this project I hope to achieve to show my skills as maybe I could do this when I am older as this is sports journalism. I am also doing this because there aren’t too many cricket magazines so it will be unique, and I also hope it gets people into cricket as it is a growing sport. This idea is a relevant idea as the ashes in coming up this year and that cricket is growing all around the world. As this magazine is getting made there will be a lot of talk about the ashes all the way up till the squad comes out and the magazine will reflect the team that will be out official. The skills I will use in my FEP is time management which will help as I need to finish my project at the deadline which will help so I’m not rushing. Creativity is also needed in my FEP as I need to create a front page, back page, adverts  so it will be key to have this skill. Another skill I will need is graphic design which will be key as I need to use adobe photoshop and InDesign. Another skill is project management which I will need to have to make this project as good as possible. The skills I will learn in my FEP are adaptability as I need to adapt if things go wrong in my project I will gain this skill. Another skill I will learn in my FEP is writing which I will learn as I make my magazine will have lots of articles. My idea is ambitious as I will be getting high profile interviews hopefully and lots of information to inform the reader about everything about the ashes. This is a challenging idea as it will take all of my effort and commitment everyday on production to create articles and player profiles and at the same time to design the magazine. Some of the relevant sources I could use to support my idea is the English cricket board which have all the information of the players and history of the ashes. This is probably the most important source I could use especially for the England team. Another source I could use is the Australian cricket website to tell me all of there players and information and where the tests are going to be played at. The marketing I could do is put a teaser of the magazine on my Instagram accounts so people would be interested in buying the magazine. With marketing you need to grab peoples attention to make your product successful as the more people that buy your product means your doing something right and it is successful. My ideal target audience for this idea is cricket fans from England and Australia and generally people who love sport. Also this idea is meant for all ages who love cricket. This idea links with my intended progression plans as I would like to be a sport journalist and this idea could help me get there as I could show my passion for sport when writing about the ashes. The difficulties I could face is getting pictures of the stadiums in Australia but I will come up with a solution. Another difficulty I could face is getting a for both sides England vs Australia but I just need to push through and try and get an interview from both sides. I can get a high grade from this project as it is ambitious and challenging enough and I am capable of making it the best magazine I can to get a high grade. I will also provide a lot of information for the reader so they can get a full preview of the ashes and I also hope people that don’t normally watch cricket read my product and start to watch cricket, During my FEP I will analyse and evaluate my product every week in my production weeks so they can see what I have been up to and how I can make the next weeks of production better to create the best magazine I can personally do. The final output of my product is for it to go on store shelfs and getting people talking about the ashes and for people who have never watched cricket start to watch cricket.

Idea 2

Ideas Justified 

My second idea is a radio show called round the rinks which is a radio show all about ice hockey from all around the world all the way from America to England and Europe. I already do this show on a Thursday and I also did it for my FMP which I got a merit from and I hope to progress to a distinction. From the end of this project I would like to get a distinction which would really help me getting into university. This idea is relevant to today as ice hockey is becoming a bigger sport in England as the attendances in the eihl is getting better and better by the year. The skills I would use in  the FEP is teamwork which I will have to use as I will be a co host and the main presenter Max as teamwork will be key as the show will not be as good if we don’t have teamwork. Another skill I will use in the FEP is research as we need to know what we are talking about and we need to get all the right information to talk about so we don’t get sued. The skills I will gain from my FEP are public speaking as I have been getting more confident as time goes on and it will get better and better. Another skill I will gain from this idea is audience engagement as to get more listeners we need them to want to listen to the show so you will gain over time how to keep your listeners entertained. This idea is challenging and ambitious as we will have to get even better interviews than we did last time in the fmp so it will be challenging. It is an ambitious idea as well as we have to keep energy for 2 hours and keep the listeners entertained  for the whole show and it is also ambitious as we need to change information every week so its not repetitive. Some of my relevant sources I could use are the EIHL website that I can get all of my information from all about British ice hockey and is a really key place to get information. An other source that can help with my idea is The NHL website is also a good place to gather information as I can get all the information from the biggest league in the world and there are plenty of topics to talk about. The marketing we can do for our show if post it on our Instagram that has over 300 followers and we reach to nearly 10,000 accounts a month. This helps with advertisement as the followers love ice hockey so they already love ice hockey so they would want to listen to our products. My ideal target audience is people who love Ice Hockey and any age as they can listen and get involved with the show as as long as they are interested in ice hockey we will target them. This idea will link with my intended progression plans as this can help with my journey in the industry as I can progress in the sports journalism sector and hopefully get a high grade to get to university. Some difficulties I could face are the interviews could cancel last minute and then our show would b ruined but we would have to think on the spot how to fill the slot they were meant to be in. Another difficulty I could face in my product is if the audio levels are not working or we forget to click record which means the whole project is a fail. To analyse my product I will be doing production reviews after a week of every production week so I can say what is good and bad about and how I can improve for the next week and say next week how I improved on it. The final output of our product I would put it on my website and send clips to different radio stations and hope we have persuade them to let us on the radio show.

My idea is about the history of North Gawber and the present and the immediate future hopefully showing the problems with grass root football and how not enough funding could impact small clubs. I hope to achieve a change with how grass root football clubs are looked at by the fa as some clubs get more funding then other clubs. This idea is relevant to this climate as football is the biggest sport in England and most people love football. Also loads of people also watch there local grass roots team and they can relate to the struggle there teams have. The skills I will use in my FEP is time management as it helps with getting my project to be at its best as if I rush it will not be a good product. Other skills I will use for my FEP are problem solving as if one of the interviewees cant make it I will have to find another interviewee so I will have to think quick on my feet. Skills I will learn during my FEP I will learn adaptability which helps with resilience and flexibility as if I make mistakes are something goes wrong I will have to fix immediately. A hard skill I will learn during my time making my FEP is video editing when I have finished making the product I will have to edit the whole thing together. My idea is challenging and ambitious as it isn’t a well covered area which will be hard to get information and I will have to find out the information first hand. It is also ambitious as it will put me to the challenge and will help me in the future as I know I can handle ambitious ideas. The relevant sources I could use is the north gawber website which helps as it has some information on the club then I will use the fa website which has all grass root football clubs information. The marketing I will use is the north gawber twitter as they are part of the story they have a twitter I can advertise as most people follow north gawber love football. My ideal target audience is football fans of any age as most of them would love to watch the product. This links to my progression plan as this can help me get into university to do sports journalism and this can go in my portfolio so I can show what I can make. The difficulties I could face in this product is my interviewees turn me down at the last second. Also the audio levels can be a difficulty as if they are not right then they will ruin the whole project. I can achieve a high grade from this project as if I deliver what I can create I will be able to get a distinction as my idea is challenging and ambitious. I will analyse my progress after every week of production as I will create a production log of what I have been doing the past week which will help me for the next week of production. The output of my product will be on YouTube and on north gawber twitter and on my portfolio so I can show what I can make.

Proposal

My presentation
